Europe New Car Registrations Disappoint -DCX
Friday, September 15, 2006 5:00:15 AM ET 0743 GMT [Dow Jones] European new car registrations for August are slightly disappointing, says Landesbank Rheinland-Pfalz. Says the only car maker that could post an increase on the month is Volkswagen (VOW.XE) which benefited from a strong growth in Audi (NSU.XE) and Skoda while its Volkswagen brand showed a decline. Says BMW's (BWM.XE) figures were depressed by a weak performance of the Mini brand. DaimlerChrysler's (DCX) results were subdued as a strong increase in Chrysler registrations was offset by losses in Smart and Mercedes. (JUM)
