Mercedes-Benz Accused Of Intimidation, Violating Federal Labor Laws
VANCE, Ala. -- The Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance stands accused of trying to intimidate pro-union workers and violating federal labor laws.The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers filed a complaint in May, alleging unfair labor practices.The National Labor Relations Board in Atlanta sided with the workers. The machinists’ union is seeking to represent 3,000 of Mercedes’ 4,500 workers in Vance.
Mercedes-Benz released a statement denying the company engaged in any of the activities alleged by the union. The company plans to appeal the board’s ruling.
