9.25.1924 - Malcolm Campbell, driving a Sunbeam at Pendine Sands, Wales, raises the land speed record to 146.157 mph - this was the first of nine times that he would raise the record

9.25.1939 - Racer Neville Lederle is born in Theunissen, South Africa

9.25.1962 - General Motors announces a two-year, 24,000-mile blanket warranty on all of its 1963 cars and trucks

9.25.1965 - The 1966 Ford Thunderbirds are introduced
