DaimlerChrysler to fire 9,300 workers

El Financiero en línea A high-ranking DaimlerChrysler executive said Tuesday the elimination of 9,300 jobs is part of a massive restructuring program, which has so far cost the automaker 840 million euros. México, City, october 31.- DaimlerChrysler AG, one of the largest automakers in Europe, plans to eliminate 9,300 employment positions from its affliate Mercedes Car Group and the company said the costs of the workforce reduction will be less than previously estimated.
