Chrysler Group September Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Rise 9% - Update

(RTTNews) - Automobile manufacturer Daimlerchrysler AG (DCX | charts | news | PowerRating) on Tuesday said that Chrysler Group announced the September sales of its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle units, reporting a nine percent growth.

The Stuttgart, Germany based company revealed that September sales of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle units increased 9% to a record of 9,451 units from 8,650 units sold during the same period last year. September sales of the Chrysler brand climbed 4% to 2,889 units and sales of the Jeep brand increased 37% to 2,587 units. Sales of the company's Dodge brand remained in line with September 2005 at 3,975 units.

The company reported a 5% year-over-year increase in the third quarter sales to 27,861 units, while sales for the nine-month period increased 10% to 88,514 units.Director of DaimlerChrysler Motors Remarketing, Peter Grady commented, "Shifting consumer preferences are raising the profile of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge CPO products in the marketplace and our customers are responding positively to our portfolio of products. As the certified-used vehicle segment continues to pick up momentum, our Five Star dealers are prepared to go full- speed ahead."

DCX is currently trading at $49.96, down $0.43 or 0.85%, on a volume of 221,900 shares.
