DaimlerChrysler sees luxury car sales in China more than doubling in 3 years

SINGAPORE (XFN-ASIA) - DaimlerChrysler AG expects its sales of luxury cars in China to grow to about 400,000 vehicles per year within the next three years from 150,000 at present, DaimlerChrysler board member Ruediger Grube said.

Grube told a business conference here that his company foresees the global market for luxury cars increasing to just under 4.5 mln vehicles by 2010 from 4 mln this year.

'The highest-increasing market for luxury cars is at this point in time: China,' Grube said.
