Belvidere Plant Gets a Fourth Vehicle-the Dodge Scooter [a.k.a Razor]

ARCHIVE, CHRYSLER BELVIDERE PLANT — DaimlerChrysler officials have already confirmed one of the worst-kept secrets in the auto industry, namely the Jeep Patriot, which will be assembled at the company’s 3.9-million-square-foot plant in Belvidere, along with the Dodge Caliber and soon to be Jeep Compass.

If you haven’t already gathered, the Jeep Patriot, or known as the smaller Commander will be unveiled this Tuesday at the New York International Auto Show. Now on too the better news – or let’s just say rumor control… Belvidere plant worker who was in an earlier meeting last week confirmed a fourth model for production to ride along side the Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot. We know it can’t be the PT Cruiser since it is being built in Mexico.

We know that the Dodge Hornet will share components with Volkswagen and be built in the Beetle plant. There is now a possibility to this question when we look back on Mark’s sketches of the Dodge Caliber [release on German website] three distinct models we should expect to see soon. Last one is a Roadster. Trying unsuccessful to validate a e-mailed received two weeks ago from an corporate insider, that European Auto Show will unveiled yet another Lancer/Caliber vehicle – namely a roadster. Could it be the resurrection of the Razor and call it the Scooter according to Dave at WWW.Allpar.Com? We have to wait an see if this revelation will come to light this year.
