Chrysler Nassau Concept Vehicle

Yes, its got a 6.1L 425Hp HEMI!Â

DETROIT – Could the next generation of the Chrysler 300 be a functional-but-luxurious hatchback? That’s the question posed by the Chrysler Nassau concept, based on the 300 platform.

“Traditional exterior proportions have been enhanced with a silhouette that recalls the classic English shooting brake,” says Alan Barrington, chief exterior designer. A shooting brake is a luxury station wagon built for hunters.

The four-passenger Nassau is also a throwback to another American body style - the classic hardtop. That’s because the Nassau has no B-pillar and has a coupelike appearance.

Chrysler sought to make the interior controls “similar to what you’d find in the office or among personal electronic devices,” says Ben Chang, chief interior designer for the Nassau.

“We strived to achieve a seamless interface between your car and the rest of your electronic world.”

The Nassau concept is powered by a 6.1-liter, 425-hp Hemi and a five-speed automatic transmission that can be operated with paddle shifters. Chrysler says it can reach a top speed of 165 mph.
