Top Executives of DaimlerChrysler Make Millions

Why? Managers at DaimlerChrysler AG earned less money in 2006 than in 2005, but top officials -- including Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche -- still made millions.

In the company's annual report, published Tuesday, the automaker said Zetsche received more than $10.3 million in total compensation last year.Tom LaSorda, CEO and president of the ailing Chrysler Group, received almost $5.2 million, including a $1.1 million annual bonus, although Chrysler lost $1.5 billion in 2006.
The total salaries for all of the company's management board was $27 million, down from $45.9 million a year earlier.Zetsche's current term as CEO lasts until 2010, while LaSorda's term is through 2012.
