Production: Mexico Ram plant works OT

Debi Domby | Automotive News / March 19, 2007 - 1:00 amThe Chrysler group's Saltillo, Mexico, plant will work overtime this week, its first overtime week of 2007. The plant assembles the Dodge Ram pickup, including the Mega Cab version. It is the only Chrysler plant that builds the Ram Mega Cab.

In 2006, the plant worked 25 weeks of overtime, including the last seven weeks of the year.

  • Chrysler's Warren (Mich.) Truck plant will be down for three weeks because of slow sales. The Dodge Ram and Dakota and Mitsubishi Raider are built there. The plant already has been idled for five weeks this year.

  • North America production reached 3 million units on Friday, March 16, nine days later than in 2006.
