AMC makes a comeback as a 'Cheap-no-thrill' Brand?

HEMISPERICAL BLOG, DamilerChrysler AG, Stuttgart, Germany - - You never know what to expect these days in the automotive industry as the ‘WIND BLOWS’ in myriad of different direction, an insider who name will be kept secret, including Internet forum alias, works the corporate side of DaimlerChrysler, held a brief discussion on the future expansion of this global corporation. One question that was raised was the ongoing speculation of a ‘cheap thrill’ brand to compete against Toyota’s Scion line. As he nodded, his mouth parted with a large grin in shaking his head in a vertical fashion. Hmm…quite revealing that there is some truth to this rumor that been floating since the last three years or so.

Well, I was taken back on his motion in seeing previous reports by CEO of DaimlerChrysler AG, Dieter, on numerous occasions that there is no brand in the making. For me, I had to ask the obvious question: “Is there a brand resurrection in the foreseeable future that will be added to the Chrysler line to compete against Scion?” As he looked around the room and then back with a stern voice came, “Yes”. Have you ever felt chills running down from your head to the back of your neck? I did! It was moment of truth hitting me directly in the face. Besides the questioning of a future brand model lines up to CY2012, my penitence of prying the brand name is too resistible. I didn’t know what to think or fear corporate reprisal if the word was out on the street of future divulge information on what is coming and pointing back at our ‘X’ person. According to an informant at Allpar.com, Chrysler bigwigs held a meeting not long ago over the issue of spy pictures, inside information, and lists that reveal future model productions, names, and so forth. I made mentioned of this thread to him to see his reaction.

Now this was stunning - - - he mentioned a so called ‘Hit List’ of names, Internet sites, Internet users’ alias that DC corporate security has drafted to quell this problematic issue since the days of http://www.car-truck.com/ . “You are one of them…” He stated. He went on to say, “They simply don’t know how or what to do in your case versus inside company informants or suppliers releasing product information or pictures.” Well, I don’t receive any monetary funds for writing, images, or divulging information on a particular subject maybe a safe guard. Interesting though, what was mentioned by him, is the cropped picture of the ‘Dodge Rebel’, ‘Dodge Colt’, and the previous SRT4 sketches, how much attention it received from upper management of DaimlerChrysler AG CEO himself. Not to forget those in North America corporate bigwigs. This was nothing more than information hunch that there is something to the design aspect of Mitsubishi products that had many Chrysler design cues. Then Autoweek broke the story of the Pacifica Advance Design Studio involvement of the Lance Evolution X and other Mitsubishi products. Back to the brand story, I was hesitating to ask which brand is being planned for a comeback but had to ask that ‘million dollar’ question. He said, “Watch the trademark posting.” I said, “What?” “You going to find that posted trademark names under various categories and soon make the final post in the ‘Automotive Vehicles’ category.” I was in shock. Under our own noses, I had been seeing a particular name that keeps popping up for toys, clothing, parts, and so forth. Never in my right mine did I think that this brand will make a come back to America in a million years.

Welcome back - - AMERICAN MOTORS - - date planned is 2010. Is this the beginning of the cheap thrill brand? I was caution though; winds can change in a couple years or so.
