7.14.1900 Miss Wemblyn, driving a 6-hp Panhard et Levassor, wins the special Ladies Race an Ranelagh - although for women only, this race is often cited as the first female racing victory in Great Britain

7.14.1915 The Chevrolet Motor Company purchases the Mason Motor Company

7.14.1931 The Cord Corporation is issued a United State patent for its 1931 Auburn radiator shell design

7.14.1943 General Motors announces plans to acquire the assets of the Yellow Truck & Coach Manufacturing Company

7.14.1954 Peter Pirsch, founder in 1919 of Peter Pirsch & Company, manufacturers of firetrucks, dies in Kenosha, WI at age 88
