New Mercedes-Benz E-Class launched in Inda

THE HINDU TIME | Hyderabad, Nov. 16 (PTI): Luxury car major DaimlerChrysler India today announced the launch of its new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class in the city.

The E-Class features about 2,000 parts that are new or further developed from its predecessor. It is priced at Rs 43 lakh (ex-showroom).

The debutant replaces its hugely popular predecessor, which had sold over one million units globally since its introduction in 2002.

Talking to reporters, DaimlerChrysler India Director (Sales & Marketing) Sanjiv Sahajwala said, "We have been able to present our Indian customers with the new generation E-Class within 5 months of its global introduction in June."

"This is in line with our commitment to offer our Indian customers the very best products and technologies from the Mercedes-Benz stable, in the least possible time," he said.

Yashwant Jhabakh, Managing Director of Adishwar Auto- Nahavir Motors, the authorised dealer of Mercedes-Benz in Hyderabad, offered insights into the popularity of the three pointed star in Andhra Pradesh.

"Andhra Pradesh, particularly Hyderabad, has been a rapidly growing market for Mercedes-Benz cars. Almost 25 per cent of all-India sales are from South India and Andhra Pradesh is a significant contributor to this pie. The E-Class continues to be an enduring favourite with 7.5% market share," he added
